Our workshops offer unique opportunities to explore topics related to biodiversity under the guidance of the best specialists.

The main goals of the International Workshop on Biodiversity are:

  • to increase knowledge about natural processes occurring in the last natural lowland forest in Europe
  • to generate understanding and explore the biodiversity of Białowieża National Park
  • to teach methods of monitoring and tracking animals
  • to broaden the horizons of its participants on the importance of natural processes in forest habitats
  • to provide an opportunity to meet like-minded people from different countries with a common interest in conservation and management of Protected Areas
  • to provide advanced training under the supervision of experts and scientists

We aim to bring together participants with extensive experience, like:

  • national parks authorities,
  • foresters,
  • natural areas managers,
  • policy and decision makers,
  • governmental bodies,
  • conservation policy planers,
  • private sector,
  • NGOs,
  • students of natural science,
  • academic teachers,
  • birdwatchers,
  • wildlife lovers.

The only requirement for participation in the workshop is to be interested in chosen topic.

The number of participants in each workshop is limited - providing an informal, friendly atmosphere and individualized teaching.

Programme is specifically prepared to follow seasonal changes in the nature.

About 80% of the time is field work, indoor seminars are reduced to necessary minimum.

 

During all workshops, experts will speak about the role of dead wood in the forest ecosystem and the protection of Bialowieza Forest.

In each edition of the International Workshop on Biodiversity we present specific topics in order to provide a wider range of issues and the opportunity to choose subject closely related to your interests.

The topics of workshops include: "FOREST", "AMPHIBIANS", "BIRDS", "PLANTS”, "INSECTS", „BATS", "FUNGI", "MAMMALS", "BISONS", "TRACKING”, "WOLVES”.

 

ALL FIELD WORK ACTIVITIES AND SEMINARS ARE UNDER THE SUPERVISION OF LEADING EXPERTS AND SCIENTISTS

ALL SEMINARS, PRESENTATIONS AND FIELD ACTIVITIES ARE CONDUCTED IN ENGLISH - THE OFFICIAL LANGUAGE OF THE WORKSHOPS

CLOTHING: YOU WILL NEED OUTDOOR BOOTS, LONG TROUSERS AND LONG-SLEEVED SHIRTS FOR WALKS IN THE FOREST. BETTER BRING A RAINCOAT TOO
